Case Study

IBM WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud integration enables IT staff to complete project in just five days

Based in the United States, this company provides solutions for transactions and applications to more than 1,500 customers around the world.

Challenge
Enterprises that use NetSuite, the cloud-based software suite for ERP, benefit from the operations visibility it provides. However, enterprises still require a single view of their customers and products. This entails integrating NetSuite software with other business applications.

This global transaction management company found itself in this situation when needing to integrate NetSuite software with Salesforce.com, the cloud-based software service for CRM. Double data entry between the two systems led to errors and reduced staff productivity. Employees lacked visibility into accounts, service contracts, product management, business intelligence and other information stored across the two systems. Because such information was critical to business performance and fact-based decisions, the organization needed to complete the integration quickly.

Solution
The solution was IBM WebSphere® Cast Iron® Cloud integration, which provides preconfigured integration solutions for hundreds of leading enterprise and cloud applications, including NetSuite software and Salesforce.com technology. By virtue of a “configuration, not coding” approach, the WebSphere platform facilitates the entire lifecycle of application integration, including data mashups, process integration across applications and data migrations in near real time. Because of the“no-coding” approach of WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud integration, companies can complete integration projects quickly, without custom programming or deep middleware expertise.

The company used these capabilities to the utmost. IT staff completed the integration in just five days with no special training. Postintegration, records of customers with software installations were moved from NetSuite to Salesforce.com technology almost instantaneously. The solution also consolidates account information, service contracts, product management reports and business intelligence (BI) into a single view. This gives employees the real-time information and visibility into the business they need for optimum job performance.

Benefits
· Achieved fast time to value thanks to the “no coding” approach to application integration
· Improved user productivity and reduced errors by eliminating manual data entry
· Enhanced business performance through fact-based decision making
