IBM WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud integration reduces costs and boosts effectiveness
This company is a leader in software and services for online market research. Headquartered in the United States, the software provider created an online survey application and offers innovative solutions designed to deliver high-value business impact.
Panelists who provide feedback to this organization’s customers are a critical business resource. Until recently, the company worked with panel members through a combination of homegrown and third-party applications, using this technology to run incentive campaigns to keep panelists engaged and happy. The business stored contact information for panel members in a Microsoft SQL Server database.
When the software provider adopted the RightNow cloud-based CRM software to service and support panelists, the company needed a solution to migrate contact information from the SQL Server database to RightNow software. The solution would also help the organization maintain accurate information across both systems through periodic synchronization. Further, it was imperative that the solution be easy to use so it did not overtax the company’s limited IT resources.
The project was a perfect fit for the IBM WebSphere® Cast Iron® Cloud integration, which includes technology for combining RightNow software with other applications, both on premises and in the cloud. WebSphere Cast Iron Cloud integration for the RightNow solution is purpose-built to dramatically simplify application integration. The product uses a “configuration, not coding” approach to help ensure fast and easy project completion without custom programming or deep middleware expertise. As an added plus, it also offers a complete solution that includes integration design and monitoring tools.
The client capitalized on these capabilities to migrate panelist contact information from the SQL Server database to the RightNow solution. The organization accomplished the orchestration, which picked up 80,000 records containing panelist information—such as name, email address, phone numbers and so on—without writing any custom code. On an ongoing basis, the solution provided periodic synchronization as well as centralized integration monitoring.
· Achieved fast time to value thanks to the “configuration, not coding” approach to application integration
· Improved staff effectiveness in managing panelists because of automatically synchronized information across two applications
· Reduced costs by USD25,000 in the first month and USD150,000 in the first year
