Overview

EEKA Fashion is a China based women's apparel manufacturer with nearly 1000 wholly owned stores. The company was founded in 1994 by Chen Lingmei, who made her reputation in factory management and saw an opportunity in the fashion industry to provide high-fashion women’s clothing that would rival the designs of European design houses.

Business need:
As the company expanded its offerings and expanded its sales networks, it struggled to access reliable data required to make informed business decisions. As with many companies that grow organically and rapidly, the company built disparate systems for different areas of the business. Separate point-of-sale (POS), CRM, ERP and manufacturing systems created business data that was scattered and unreliable. The company suffered from a lack of end-to-end control of sales and inventory operations. The insufficient visibility of sales greatly affected its responsiveness to demand.

Solution:
The company now leverages IBM and business partner ADM to implement an IBM Smart Analytics System 5710 solution comprised of DB2, InfoSphere Warehouse and Cognos to manage and derive intelligence from 2TB of data in order to compete effectively in the market.

Benefits:
- improves the accuracy of sales projections - optimizes the merchandise mix at stores - protects profit margins
