We also maintain the nation’s largest clinical, financial and outcomes-based database in the nation with information on one in four patient discharges.
We have $43 billion worth of annual purchasing volume that’s coming in. We’re also bringing clinical messages. We bring in 2.5 million transactions daily as well as we’re getting weekly and monthly and quarterly feeds.
The Premier Membership uses our big data analytics daily. They are out looking to see how they’re performing against their base lines, how they’re driving best practices within their local communities and how they might be able to bring that content and that information back to their local community to continue to improve healthcare.

From a systems administration standpoint there’s less bells and whistles to mess with.
And we have the in-database analytics traditionally you would run your queries, and do those analytics in that mid tier. Very expensive to move the data back and forth. So, within database analytics, we’re able to do those analytics inside the appliance, take advantage of the MPP architecture, resolve the query there and then bring that result set back to the user so they can look at their analytics and decide what they need to do next.
And then from there, you’re able to resolve all the queries that you would want to, that you’re able to take advantage of that from a load perspective to get it set up for the query execution time.
But the primary reason is the faster query execution time.
From a query execution standpoint, the results come back much faster. Things that used to take minutes, hours, days may be not come back at all are coming back in minutes and seconds.
