Smarter Solutions for Retail
Overview
Marketec Targeted Solutions (Marketec) offers retailers in South America intelligent couponing solutions, which print coupons for customers at checkout based on their purchases. Clients benefit from analyzing the purchasing patterns and can use this information to better inform their promotional practices.
Business need:
Marketec had been struggling with the rising number of customer transactions processed by its intelligent couponing solution. Its existing platforms could not handle the growing volume and thus became unreliable. To maintain its reputation, Marketec needed to choose a new, scalable and economical application infrastructure for its transaction processing.
Solution:
With help from IBM, Marketec created a robust intelligent couponing solution that reads a retail customer’s purchases at checkout and prints coupons based on what the customer buys. The system also logs purchases and provides sales reports to Marketec’s retail clients. It also tracks coupon use, so customers can easily see the money they are saving with the promotions.
Benefits:
• Provides its clients with decision-making information, thereby empowering them and giving Marketec a competitive edge
• Connects spending patterns and client offerings in real time, helping clients position their products with the right buyers
• Relates the purchase of goods to ongoing client offerings and customer buying patterns
