VO: TCCT, Thailand’s leading SAP Application Hosting Services provider, uses the IBM XIV Storage System to provide robust SAP services to customers throughout the ASEAN region.

Kosit Suksingha: Over the past 10 years, we have started collecting a lot of knowledge and experience in running a mission-critical business application… We also are one of the best data center providers in Thailand.

Suthipat Laeprasert the business is growing so fast sometimes we cannot predict what can be going on in the next few years. … So the system, the infrastructure that we provide need to be really adapting.

Adisak Chantalay: In order to meet our clients' requirements, we have two main concerns. The first is cost, and the second is speed, meaning speed of the hardware performance and the hosting services.

Since our data center uses XIV to support our main applications, we guarantee the performance to existing and new customers.

We do have a graph demonstrating the response time of an existing customer, comparing before and after implementing XIV. Before, the response time took 1-2 seconds,

After using IBM XIV, the response time is now less than 1000 milliseconds. We include this information in performance reports that we present to prospective customers to show that we can meet their requirements, and we’re able to win more customers.

We picked this storage because of its features and functions, as well as the price. IBM's solution can meet all of our needs. We chose IBM XIV.

Currently, in addition to SAP hosting, we provide an Exchange Hosting and a Virtual Private Server, which are now the trend for implementing Cloud Computing.

We use IBM XIV linked with our whole Virtualization infrastructure. Hyper-V, VMware, and even SAP Hosting that runs on Red Hat.

Reliability of the system is very important to our clients. We guarantee 99.999% to our XIV hosting clients and no downtime.

TCC Technology has been running XIV for almost two years, and we have never had any downtime in production.

Kosit Suksingha: … We have been searching for the right technology that could eventually combine… three categories of storage environment into the single one and still provide an exceptional price…

There was only one solution that stood out… from IBM, which actually allowed us to replicate data between both data centers using the minimum network bandwidth.

Parithas Chantasarn: Before we had XIV, we backed up our main applications, including SAP and MS Exchange, directly onto tape, which took a long time.

After we started using XIV, we do a snapshot, and then transfer that snapshot backup onto tape. With this XIV function, there is no downtime during this backup process, so it doesn’t affect our users.

Suthipat Laeprasert: Because of the XIV, the technology is self-healing. Once anything fails it can heal itself.

The XIV itself gives us 20% better performance compared to the previous storage system. It required less power… so cost of ownership of XIV also is cheaper than other. The ease of the use…we are using only one engineer to manage the whole thing.

It’s important… to choose… a vendor who can provide total solution for hardware, software and also… all the integration because… we want to ensure the success of the project.

Kosit Suksingha: We chose the XIV because it offered us a lot of flexibilities to address pricing needs in our managed hosting environment…

Suthipat Laeprasert: We know that the commitment that IBM gives to us would be delivered. IBM also will go with us wherever we go. That’s why we chose IBM.
