Business need:
The Brazilian government tasked this engineering contractor with developing the Ground-Based Augmentation System (GBAS) designed to improve the accuracy, integrity, continuity and availability of information to navigation satellites of its global navigation satellite systems. The system would have to support all types of critical operation of a flight, approach, landing, takeoff and surface taxiing, but it also meant managing as many as 10,000 regulatory requirements and introducing modeling earlier into the development stage to improve quality.
