(0:08) COSVI is an insurance company in Puerto Rico. We are number one in the competitive business. We offer a lot of services and products to the Puerto Rican community, like, life, retirement, financial services. This is a very special year for COSVI in Puerto Rico. We are celebrating our 50th anniversary and we are going through a major transformation in the industry. We want to get closer to our people, to our communities; we want to go back to our core, which is life. To do that we have to look at the way we do business, especially to technology. So the technology is key in our growth; it is key to take COSVI in that journey to the next level. So XIV has been fantastic.
Armando Rosa, Systems Administrator
COSVI Asset Management Corp (CAMC)
(0:54) When we were first presented the IBM XIV solution, it was just really amazing to see how excellent this solution was architected. It was really a very good first impression. Our deployment only lasted one day, and just one hour of training the next day. So you can start seeing the benefits just on day one when you install the solution.
Erick Valentin, Vice President, IT
COSVI Asset Management Corp (CAMC)
(1:18) Since changing to the IBM XIV solution, the performance improvement was outstanding.
Raymond Ortiz
(1:25) And what is helping us a lot is it is freeing my people to do other things; other stuff that they have to do in terms of technology.
Armando Rosa
(1:32) Oh, the GUI is just amazing. I think there is nothing compared to that GUI in other storage systems right now. It’s just so intuitive and just so easy to use it’s just unbelievable.
Erick Torres, Networks Administrator
COSVI Asset Management Corp (CAMC)
(1:44) In our previous solution, provisioning space for the business could take up to a full business day and it could only be done by a senior administrator. With the IBM XIV solution, that task was reduced from a full business day to less then ten minutes. And the task can now be delegated to junior administrators.
Armando Rosa
(2:07) I can just do things fast, you know. I have a really robust solution that gives me the performance I need; a scalable solution with a small footprint. And when I have to do something, I just go do it and that’s it. I can do more jobs in less time.
Erick Valentin
(2:22) XIV offers to us a great component in terms of disaster recovery.
Armando Rosa
(2:30) With the IBM XIV you get replication out of the box just when you buy it. It’s not a license, it’s not an option; it’s just very simple to deploy.
Erick Torres
(2:38) IBM XIV provides us with a competitive advantage in the fact that the licensing is all inclusive. It’s also a huge plus because it means any new features can be readily available to us.
Raymond Ortiz
(2:51) IBM XIV is not only bringing the technology, but also the services, the people, the relationship. This goes beyond a relationship with a vendor -- we are partners. If you are looking into changing your technology environment you have to look at IBM XIV.
Armando Rosa
(3:10) The IBM XIV solved all our technical challenges and at a very affordable price compared to our old solution.
Raymond Ortiz
(3:18) For us, it was a major improvement and that’s something that you have to look at in order to be successful.
Armando Rosa
(3:24) It’s just something that you have to see for yourself. It’s the future of storage. It definitely is.
