IndusInd Bank, which commenced operations in 1994, caters to the needs of both consumer and corporate customers.
IndusInd Bank needed to migrate its core banking system to Finacle software from IBM Premier Business Partner Infosys Ltd.
IBM delivered the IBM Software Accelerated Value Program for the core banking system migration.
The bank had a smooth transition from its previous solution to the Finacle application, with no major issues.
IndusInd Bank Ltd., which commenced operations in 1994, caters to the needs of both consumer and corporate customers. It has a robust technology platform supporting multi-channel delivery capabilities. IndusInd Bank has more than 500 branches, and 1,000 ATMs spread across India. The bank also has two representative offices, one each in London and Dubai.
IndusInd Bank had been using Equation software as its core banking system, which it implemented approximately 15 years ago. Although the Equation application supported the growth of the bank, the application did not support some requirements specific to operating in India. Further, it did not provide out-of-the-box support for some of the product innovations required by the business team. To meet these requirements, IndusInd Bank decided to migrate to the Finacle core banking system from IBM Premier Business Partner Infosys Ltd. The Finacle software was expected to help the bank achieve its business objectives and long-term goals, including greater efficiency, business growth and increased profitability. To achieve a successful migration, IndusInd Bank needed crucial support for its IBM WebSphere applications.
IndusInd Bank engaged the support team from the IBM Software Accelerated Value Program to assist with its core banking system migration project. The IBM team specializes in helping reduce risks associated with the WebSphere suite of products in complex IT projects. The team helped the bank with installation, configuration, performance tuning, best-practices implementation and on-site issue resolution services for the bank’s IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere MQ software. The IBM team used WebSphere performance monitoring tools to help the bank achieve its desired benchmarks and eliminate bottlenecks. The IBM team helped complete the migration with minimal disruption and within defined timelines.
