We are a Connecticut-based IT company. We focus on providing a B2B platform for allowing healthcare entities to post any type of information or transactions from transaction submitters to any type of transaction recipients securely and reliably over the Internet.

To be competitive in the health care space, you have to be fast. Speed is key. Driving efficiency is key. Innovation for a company likes ours is particularly key.

Healthcare Reform a little over a year ago has had an impact on the sector, there are new mandates, there are new requirements.
Our customer base includes some of the largest, most complex health plans in the country and to address their needs, we needed to make sure that we had really an industrial strength platform that allowed us to innovate very, very quickly.

We implemented a range of IBM Solutions. We implemented WebSphere MQ and Tivoli as our first phase of our project. In doing so, we worked with an IBM solutions Partner Prolifics and they have had a very, very good experience.

There were four critical areas, best practices in developing our platform. One is we wanted to move to the Cloud because we think the Cloud environment is highly efficient. Second is our delivery model is SaaS based. We think again that’s efficient in terms of our customers’ utilization of resources. Third, we wanted to architect this around SOA. We think it gives a great platform for building modular solutions, and we really executed that SOA infrastructure utilizing Web Services from day one.

Our primary driver was to be able to scale faster and innovate faster because it was all about growth, growth, growth. And that’s the primary benefit that we have derived from the solutions. I think what the value of the IBM solutions within the context of our platform provide us with, again, very stable, very solid infrastructure components with which we can build new components, we can offer new services.
