Established in 1976 as a packer and marketer of fresh fruits and vegetables, Sun World International today focuses on farming, packing and marketing an extensive collection of specialty-branded produce. The company operates one of the world’s leading fruit development programs with more than 15,000 acres of farming land plus offices in the United States, Italy, Australia, Chile, Mexico and South Africa.

Business need:
The owner and operator of more than 15,000 acres of farming land, Sun World International plants, harvests, packs and markets an extensive collection of specialty-branded produce. Sun World wanted to expand the use of its financial analysis software to company operations so managers could access more detailed cost and operational analyses—and improve harvesting efficiency to lower the cost of goods sold.

Solution:
With help from IBM Business Partner, Applied Analytix, Sun World expanded the use of its analytical solution to evaluate costs throughout the organization. By implementing a Web portal with comprehensive online reporting, it is now simple to upload data and access information, which can improve harvest yields, boost field worker productivity, minimize operational costs and increase go-to-market efficiency.
