Video Transcript

My name is Michael Elleby, III. I’m currently an Enterprise Monitoring Engineer working for AAC, Incorporated out of Vienna, Virginia.

AAC is focused on putting together network solutions or network-based solutions that enable a customer to understand we’re managing your network environment. We’re letting you know when things are going wrong in your environment. We’re letting you know that a problem has occurred in the right levels of management of being notified

What we’re trying to do is create a centralized portal environment so that individuals at multiple levels of the business can understand what’s going on in their IT infrastructure.

The goal to be able to deploy solutions that provide a network monitoring, security-based monitoring, O/S level monitoring, database monitoring.

So when we look at leveraging the equipment, leveraging the software that a customer has purchased, we are able to come in and leverage their functionality.

One of the things that I’ve been blessed to be able to do is be able to come in and look at an infrastructure, what has been put together, and look at how we can leverage the Tivoli Netcool toolset to provide their business with the functionality, from the products it requires, to satisfy their business objectives.

When we look at return on investment or we’re looking at the cost of the solution and the resources required to maintain it, and, of course, delivering that real value to the business as a whole. When we look at what we want to do a return on investment, it’s in the understanding that the Tivoli Netcool products have so much functionality.

The good thing about all this is that a lot of functionality that Netcool provides is able to be – it’s able to be deployed without customization.

I would have to say that the top benefits of putting it altogether is understanding that you have various tools that are generating events. Netcool is able to take this data and consolidate that data and present that information to management or present that information at all levels of business so that they understand what’s going on with IT.
