Overview
- Enables users to improve management of disk space by archiving CMS and non-CMS data, placing infrequently accessed files, or entire minidisks, on to a choice of target media (disk or tape)
- Helps storage administrators control DASD usage and reclaim valuable DASD space for increased data availability
- Eases organization and retrieval of archived files by allowing users to retrieve archived files at the filename or filetype level, using wildcard characters to retrieve files that meet specific criteria
- Protects archived data by enabling administrators to control access to data in the archive
