A new study from the IBM Institute for Business Value addressed this topic in a survey of more than 400 business executives in 58 countries, and spanning 18 industries. The study shows that 86 percent of companies believe software delivery is important or critical, but only 25 percent leverage software delivery effectively today. Without a set of guiding principles and integrated tools, businesses face costly, error-prone manual processes and increased risk in software upgrades due to managing multiple application configurations and versions across servers.
