Looking to upgrade to DB2 11? Get a head start and brush-up your skills, knowledge, and experience
Most IBM® DB2® customers who are running DB2 10 are planning to upgrade to DB2 11 in the next 6-12 months to exploit some of its new features and functions, and gain CPU savings. With DB2 11, you can also manage and process large volumes of data very quickly with minimal disruption for running applications.

Join us for this complimentary teleconference for an overview of the DB2 products, with a focus on the strengths and differences between the members of the DB2 family. We will also explain basic DB2 database administration skills, and an overview of connectivity options.
During the second half of the teleconference, we will discuss the specifics of DB2 11 for z/OS and the skills needed to become certified as DB2 professional. The overall system architecture will be explained, covering DB2 catalog and directory, and distributed data and subsystem pools among others. You’ll learn about access control including granting, auditing, trusted context etcetera, as well as the locking mechanism. Other topics include new possibilities with DB2 objects (creating, altering and dropping), maintenance options, and SQL. Finally, we’ll discuss backup and recovery, as well as data sharing basics and strategies.

Added bonus: This teleconference will help prepare attendees for the IBM Certified Database Administrator exam for DB2 11 for z/OS and DB2 10.1 fundamentals.

Join us after the teleconference for a live question-and-answer session. This teleconference will also be available for replay after the event.
