IBM
SecureWay Directory for Linux technology preview is now available!

The IBM SecureWay Directory
for Linux is now available as a technology preview. Linux continues to gain
momentum. In response to customer requests, IBM chose to provide a technology
preview of the IBM SecureWay Directory for Linux. The IBM SecureWay Directory
version 3.2 for Linux allows customers to try IBM's industry-leading LDAP server
on the Linux platform. IBM SecureWay Directory version 3.2 is now available
for the following Linux distributions:
Note that certain features
of the IBM SecureWay Directory for Linux are not fully supported at this time:
- Gskit, which provides
SSL support for the IBM SecureWay Directory, is not available.
- The IBM SecureWay Directory
web administration tool is not currently available.
- Configuration of the
server must be done manually rather than through the IBM SecureWay Directory
configuration tool.
- No translations are
available; only English is available.
- Transaction support
is not provided.
- Security auditing is
not provided
- Event notification
is not provided.
- Kerberos support is
not provided.
If you are interested
in giving the IBM SecureWay Directory for Linux a try, you will need to request
a copy. Send an email to ksams@us.ibm.com,
requesting the Linux version of the IBM SecureWay Directory. You will be asked
to sign a beta code agreement in order for the software to be sent to you. Once
the beta code agreement is signed and returned to IBM, you will be sent a CD-ROM
with the Linux version of the IBM SecureWay Directory.
