IBM SecureWay Directory
available at no cost

IBM today announced that
the industry-leading LDAP directory server IBM SecureWay Directory is now available
at no cost to users. This offer includes the DB/2 database license which is
provided at no cost when used in conjunction with the IBM SecureWay Directory.
The IBM SecureWay Directory is available on the OS/390, OS/400, AIX, Solaris,
and NT operating system environments.
The IBM SecureWay Directory
utilizes IBM's industry-leading DB/2 database technology as the backend datastore.
Utilizing DB/2 as the backend datastore provides:
- Industry-leading search
performance
- Scale for large directory
size
- Proven 24x7 reliability,
management, and database technology
DB/2 has proven through
years of use in mission critical applications to be a reliable database technology.
This level of proven performance cannot be matched by other LDAP severs in the
industry today.
Prior to this announcement
the IBM SecureWay Directory required the user to purchase the DB/2 database
license on the NT and Solaris platforms. The DB/2 database license is now provided
at no cost on AIX, OS/400, NT and Solaris operating systems. Th DB/2 user license
is provided at no cost only when used in conjunction with the IBM SecureWay
Directory.
