- [Feb 2012] IBM's plans for the future of Lotus Symphony combining the best of Lotus Symphony with the new Apache OpenOffice Project.
Some in the press have erroneously interpreted these changes as IBM "dumping" Lotus Symphony or open office productivity suites. This couldn't be further from the truth. The IBM long-term vision and strategy has been and continues to be to offer full market commitment to an open productivity suite, continuing today with Lotus Symphony and evolving in the near future into Apache OpenOffice IBM edition.
