The Lotus Protector for Mail Security software appliance is engineered to optimize email throughput. Zero level analysis technology, exclusive to IBM, provides real-time analysis of content, discarding known spam immediately. This can help avoid the time consuming process of writing content to disk for analysis, helping to minimize system resource utilization.
Indepth content analysis can be customized to your specifications. Over 20 analysis modules are available that allow you to tune for further analysis of email. You can combine modules together to define policies or tailor modules to help meet legal, regulatory compliance, or enforce business standards. For example, you can scan email for business confidential or personal content such as social security numbers, customizable keywords and offensive content, and block it before it leaves your business. You specify the modules to use to help control content that leaves your network.
¹VBSpam certification is awarded to products that exceed a predefined threshold based on a combination of criteria relating to the products' spam catch rate and false positive rate. To display the VBSpam verified logo, an anti-spam solution must be capable of blocking a large percentage of emails in a live spam stream, and correctly identifying all but a very small percentage of emails in a live stream of legitimate emails. On completion of the test a false positive (FP) rate (#ham missed/#ham) and average spam catch (SC) rate (#spam caught/#spam) will be computed for each product. Products whose spam catch rate minus five times the false positive rate (SC - [5xFP]) is greater than or equal to 97 will earn a VBSpam award.
