Alcatel-Lucent to serve enterprises with integrated collaboration for IBM Lotus Sametime
Provides Alcatel-Lucent's voice communicationsto IBM Lotus Notes and Sametime users
LOTUSPHERE, ORLANDO, FL. January 19, 2009 - Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU), today introduced its OmniTouch My Instant Communicator suite release 5.1 collaboration solution with complete support for the IBM Lotus Sametime 8.0 environments.
For Alcatel-Lucent and IBM users, this release represents a truly collaborative solution with the latest feature set of Lotus Sametime coupled to industry-leading voice solutions from Alcatel-Lucent, providing an integrated real-time communications experience. Alcatel-Lucent compliments IBM with carrier-grade, open standards-based communications to the desktop environment with unified messaging, IP telephony control and multi-party audio conferencing. The collaborative solution will be demonstrated at the Alcatel-Lucent booth 238 at Lotusphere 2009.
Today's employees face an ever increasing volume of communications: phone calls, voice mails, text messages, faxes, emails, instant messages, and web, voice and video conferences. With this expanded alliance offering, users can take advantage of unified communications and collaboration capabilities that help them more efficiently handle the demands of their daily work. These new capabilities are available to every user within a large organization, yielding tangible, immediate benefits to the enterprise without the cost or infrastructural complexity of a traditional major technology purchase.
With integration into the Lotus and the desktop environment, the solution includes voice and fax messaging within IBM Lotus Notes and embedded telephony services such as click to call, call control, call logging, call routing and filtering, soft phone access and audio conferencing within the Lotus Notes and Lotus Sametime interfaces. Expanded Lotus Sametime 8.0 support includes telephony presence for Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise users.
Carrier-grade audio conferencing also is available through the Alcatel-Lucent OmniTouch 8660 My Teamwork Conferencing and Collaboration client and includes click-to-conference from Sametime Connect and multi-party call control and scheduling from Lotus Sametime Meeting Center, using legacy or VoIP telephony services. My Teamwork can deliver a rapid and real return on investment because it can replace outsourced conference call services. The integration also supports audio recording and is accessible directly from the familiar Lotus Sametime client interface so that users are up and running in minutes with no downtime.
