WebSphere Studio Application Developer Integration Edition

This demonstration is an introduction to the development environment. It shows how you can: - Perform different development roles using perspectives (Java™, XML, Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE), Web, etc.) - Customize the development environment to meet your individual needs -Work with Java, Web, EJB, Web services and other types of development - Edit Java class, JSP file, and HTML file side-by-side - Modify applications and immediately test them using the embedded Unit Test Environment

This scenario gives Web users access to employee information that exists on a DB2 Universal Database by creating an Enterprise JavaBean (EJB) to access the DB2 Universal Database, then generating a Web service based on the EJB component.

In this three-part demonstration, you learn how to use WebSphere Studio Application Developer by building an Online Auction sample application and running it in a J2EE-compliant server environment. Since the on-line auction sample application employs J2EE technology, it features a wide variety of application components, such as Java beans, JDBC, HTML, JavaScript, servlets, JSP pages, GIFs, and of course, enterprise beans. You can develop or enhance all of these component types using WebSphere Studio, which provides multiple application development tools, such as local, and remote environments that are based on WebSphere Application Server, Single Server Edition.
