IBM extends WebSphere® MQ to HP OVMS and HP NonStop Server, bringing all the enhancements of the relevant releases to businesses with investments in these HP platforms. You can now integrate applications residing on these HP platforms with all the features of the market-leading software for messaging and integration:

• OpenVMS Alpha

• OpenVMS Itanium®

• NonStop Server (Integrity)

• NonStop Server (S-series)

WebSphere® MQ for HP OpenVMS V6.0 supersedes MQSeries® for HP OpenVMS V5.3.

Highlights include:

• Functional parity with the other WebSphere® MQ V6.0 platforms

• Usability, including the new Eclipse-based tooling for remote administration and configuration of the entire MQ network(1)

• Manageability, featuring:
  - Easier problem determination and avoidance
  - Monitoring of the MQ network
  - Gathering statistics
  - Raising alerts

• Integrated Java® Message Service (JMS) V1.1 support, including publish and subscribe messaging

• Performance, capacity, and scalability

(1) The Eclipse tooling is available on the Microsoft Windows® and Linux® on x86 platforms only. You must have a license for WebSphere® MQ on distributed platforms to obtain it. You can, however, use it on one of these platforms to administer a WebSphere® MQ for HP OpenVMS V6 queue manager.

WebSphere® MQ for HP NonStop Server V5.3 supersedes MQSeries® for Compaq NonStop Kernel V5.1.

Highlights include:

• Open-standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) support for secure transfer of messages (when used in conjunction with HP SSL for OpenVMS)

• Integrated support for standard programming interface, Java® Message Service (JMS) v1.1, including publish and subscribe messaging

• Increased flexibility of the de facto standard programming interface, MQ Interface (MQI), with new crossing exit support

• Performance and scalability enhancements

• Simplified cluster management

WebSphere® MQ for HP NonStop Server V5.3 announced in October 2005 and a further announcement containing revisions was made in February 2006.
