IBM ILOG JViews Enterprise

JViews Enterprise is a product specifically designed for organizations that are focused on creating advanced business software. It provides ready-to-use software displays that large end users and system integrators (SIs) often need in their software applications. Specifically, JViews Enterprise offers a rich set of charts, maps, diagrams, dashboards, and schedule displays that can be easily customized and integrated into a user interface. Tools for Rapid Application Development (RAD)

JViews Enterprise provides a variety of RAD tools for reducing development time:

• Designers: Three point-and-click editors are used to specify most aspects of the diagram, chart, or schedule display.

• Symbol Editor: Developers use this tool to create, edit and organize sophisticated data-aware graphic objects which will be used by the other editors, and also during the run-time of the developed applications.

• Map Builder: This graphical editor defines the map data used in applications and also how custom symbols will appear on the map.

• Dashboard Editor: This tool is used to assemble industrial and business dashboards. Developers use it to arrange graphic objects (created with the Symbol Editor) on top of a background, and then connect the symbols to the underlying data.

Multiple displays from a single product

JViews Enterprise gathers together many common advanced user interface displays into a single offering. The product:

• Provides a single source for adding charts, maps, diagrams, dashboards, and schedule displays

Ready for the Web

JViews Enterprise applications can be deployed as desktop clients, Eclipse plug-ins, or in a browser as applets or rich Web clients. For Web deployment, specialized off-the-shelf JavaServer Faces (JSF) and Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax) components are available to display and interact with graphical views, overviews, toolbars and contextual menus. A Dojo functionality (available only for diagram displays) is also available for creating displays with client-side rendering and logic and greater reactivity (i.e., no server round-trips will be required).
