The most recent release of the product, IBM ILOG Elixir Enterprise 3.5, supports the latest underlying Adobe Flex platform, version 4.5, which became available in May, 2011. Developers who are programming with Elixir Enterprise 3.5 can now take advantage of the new features of Flex 4.5, most notable of which is its support for mobile devices. Adobe has also released a new version of their editing environment, Adobe Flash Builder 4.5, and Elixir Enterprise 3.5 fully integrates with that as well.
In addition to support for the latest Flex platform, Elixir Enterprise has added new features in support of developers creating professional planning displays. For example, multiple calendars can now be displayed side-by-side, weekends can be hidden on work schedules, and there are finer-grained customizations possible to meet exact customer look-and-feel requirements.
Elixir Enterprise 3.5 also adds a completely new "Sparkline" component, a type of chart that displays large quantities of (typically scrolling) data. These Sparklines are often part of a real-time dashboard display, for use in such diverse applications as stock chart performance and computer resource usage--wherever real-time monitoring is needed.
For network management applications, Elixir Enterprise 3.5 adds a new diagramming capability, the circular graph display. This display is typically used to organize the representations of network elements and their interconnections, rearranging them automatically on the display so that the network topology--including clusters of devices--is easily discernable.
Finally, Elixir Enterprise 3.5 adds more globalization features, which enable the display components to support right-to-left languages, and also keyboard accessibility features, which permits users to use the keyboard exclusively when interacting with the display.
