SOA Governance: Implementing the IBM Method
Hello, I’m Ed Tuggle and I’d like to introduce you to our SOA Governance briefing for 2007.
Governance is a critical aspect of a migration to a Service-oriented Architecture; in fact, the Gartner Group has said that “In 2006, lack of working governance mechanisms in midsize-to-large SOA projects will be the most common reason for project failure. Our customers realize this, and one of the things that they like most about IBM’s approach to SOA Governance is that we implement it through an end-to-end approach based on what we call “The IBM SOA Governance and Management Method. It not only helps our customers develop and implement an effective governance framework, but also helps them achieve whatever level of process and governance maturity they need to reach. To help explain this Method, we have put together this briefing which we call “SOA Governance: Implementing the IBM Method.
The briefing provides an in-depth look at the IBM SOA Governance and Management Method and the Rational Method Composer, IBM’s tool to facilitate the development of a governance framework. The briefing is intended for Software Architects, CIOs, and CTOs. It is centered around using the method to develop an SOA Governance framework, and the tools, processes, and activities that are a part of it. We’ll discuss IT governance concepts and how we extend them for SOA Governance. SOA Governance focuses on service lifecycle governance; that is, how to plan, define, enable and measure the service lifecycle in an SOA. We’ll also step through the use of IBM's world-class Rational and Web Sphere tools. We’ll also cover SOA governance best practices, and resources for further information.
So join me for this very important briefing on implementing the IBM SOA Governance and Management Method when it comes to a city near you. Please visit the web site shown on the screen for more information and registration, and I’ll look forward to seeing you there.
