Hello, from SAPPHIRE 2009 in Orlando, Florida. This is Rainer Zinn, General Manager for the IBM and SAP Global Alliance team.
I love these events.
It gives me a chance to sit down face-to-face with our SAP colleagues, and it really hits me how special the IBM and SAP Alliance truly is.
To me, the word “Alliance” hardly does justice to the strength and commitment of the IBM and SAP relationship, and the success that the work we do together gives to both companies, and, more importantly, gives to our customers.
Yes, IBM and SAP have been working together for more than 35 years of meaningful, ongoing collaboration, and this has driven the development of both IBM and SAP products, including “Alloy by IBM and SAP” our latest joint software product that gives business users direct access to SAP information via their Lotus Notes client. And yes, IBM has been awarded more Pinnacle Awards, SAP’s most prized partner community award, over the past 5 years than any other partner, including 4 new Pinnacle awards presented to us last night, but it’s more than these accolades.
This commitment between SAP and IBM means that when I shake hands with Bill McDermott, SAP President and CEO or with Michael Ellis, the Senior Vice President Global Partner Management, I know that SAP is just as committed as IBM in continuing to provide customers of all sizes with products that are fully integrated and have customer benefits built right in. It’s this commitment that made it so easy for our two companies to sign our global agreement around the SAP Business All-In-One Fast-Start Program. With this agreement IBM offers our small and mid-market customers the ability to configure SAP Industry specific solutions online, and then quickly obtain an estimate of costs.
In addition to the small and mid-market customers, we also focus on industry-specific solutions. IBM’s Industry-specific solutions are based on best practices and business experiences gained in thousands of engagements world-wide. Not just in a datacenter lab, but in real-world customer engaged environments.
Our customers are generating more data than ever before, and IBM has responded to this development. By leveraging IBM Systems solution for SAP Business Warehouse Accelerator, customers can now analyze huge amounts of data in seconds, enabling faster business insight.
Choosing whom to work with and trust with your company’s future is not a time for decisions based on gut feeling. You need facts and insurance that your vendor has the expertise, experience and commitment to deliver results
Together, IBM and SAP have tens of thousands of shared customers. IBM has worked hard to become one of SAP’s most important alliance partners, and it is this work that has enable us to have received more than 170 software certifications by SAP – the most by any ISV.
It is this hard work that has enabled IBM’s Dynamic Infrastructure Technologies and SAP’s Business Suite 7 to work so well together. They are a significant step towards clients being able to match their IT requirements to Business Processes.
It is this work that has enabled us to become a leading SAP Business All-in-One reseller and implementation partner with more than 30 industry solutions developed and delivered to serve the mid-market.
It is this work that has enabled our DB2 software to be named by SAP as the database of choice for SAP Business all-in-One solutions.
These are not just bullets on a brochure.
These facts represent hard work, dedication and trust between our two companies that I for one am very proud of.
