>>Total technology is not a singular interface to specific applications or functions, but rather it's an enterprise-wide electronic community that brings together people, information and resources to drive new value to the insurance operation.

The portal facilitates effective collaboration among teams and individuals both inside and outside the organization. It provides real-time access to actionable information and the integration of core applications as well as other tools.

We will be showing pages designed primarily for agents in this particular demonstration. As we move through the presentation, we'll be emphasizing three of the primary business values of a portal in insurance.

The first is personalization, which allows the user to view content and have access to applications that are specific to their needs. It also restricts access to content and applications in various ways. What you will see today is personalized for an agent. You may have different views personalized for internal and other external constituents.

The second value is the integration of applications, which allows the user to have a single workspace that links them to various systems that they will use during a typical day. The portal allows for that integration to be designed so that navigation from one application to another is seamless and is consistent with the way the user works.

The final value is collaboration. The portal facilitates workflow from one user to another through online communications like Sametime or instant messaging, and provides for the ability to share work products from one user to another. We will be talking more about these three values as we move through the demonstration.
