Douglas M. Balog

Douglas (Doug) Balog, general manager, IBM System z, is responsible for IBM’s worldwide mainframe server business and the IBM System z franchise.

Doug has been part of IBM’s System’s and Technology group for nearly 30 years with product development leadership and brand leadership roles across IBM System z, System x, BladeCenter and System Storage. During that time, he has led major portfolio transformations across the brands.

Most recently, Doug was the worldwide business line executive for IBM System Storage where he led the complete transformation of IBM’s storage portfolio through new organic development, acquisitions and new partnerships. With this transformation, the IBM storage portfolio is the strongest it has ever been since IBM first invented disk drives in 1956.

Doug graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1983 and immediately joined IBM in Poughkeepsie, NY, working on the architectural validation of IBM’s next-generation mainframes. He spent 18 years in NY in a variety of development, brand and corporate roles until 2001 when he moved to San Francisco to help one of IBM’s largest clients deploy and operate one of the largest Parallel Sysplexes for web trading at that time.

Harish Grama

Harish Grama is the Vice President of Rational Product Development, Delivery and Customer Support. In this role he oversees worldwide development and support of IBM Rational’s extensive product portfolio. In his 20 years as an IT professional, Harish has held a variety of technical and management positions. Harish brings significant cross-Software Group experience to his role. Prior to assuming his current role in Rational, he was Vice President of InfoSphere Development where he led a worldwide development of IBM’s newly announced InfoSphere product portfolio that was a multi hundred million dollar a year investment. He also has growth market experience having led the India Software Lab which develops middleware products for all five Software Group brands.

Over the years Harish has been involved in defining and bringing key IBM software technologies to the market. He pioneered Workplace Client Technology, IBM’s client offering for a rich desktop experience for large enterprises as well as Small and Medium businesses, and successfully launched the first IBM Workplace branded offering, Workplace Mail, in the market in 2004.

Earlier he spearheaded the development of IBM WebSphere Application Server – a critical offering for the IBM Software Strategy. The WebSphere Application Server went on to become the market leader in application integration area and helped establish WebSphere as the flagship brand for IBM middleware in the marketplace.

Harish is a technologist at heart and his early work on operating systems such as the Mach

Kernel and the Unix Server on the Mach Kernel resulted in five U.S. Patents.

Brendon Hannigan

Brendan Hannigan brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his role. Previously, Mr. Hannigan was the president and chief executive officer of Q1 Labs, the acquisition of which catalyzed the creation of the Security Systems Division. This division brings together many capabilities across IBM to respond to the market need for sophisticated, comprehensive and integrated approaches to enterprise security.

Mr. Hannigan held a number of positions at Q1 Labs: he joined the company in November 2003 as vice president of marketing; was promoted to executive vice president of marketing and product engineering in March 2004; was named chief operating officer (COO) in April 2006; became president and COO in December 2007; and finally became chief executive officer in 2011.

Prior to Q1 Labs, Mr. Hannigan was vice president of marketing and technology at Sockeye Networks; director of network research at Forrester Research; and served in a variety of senior-level product development roles at Digital Equipment Corporation, Wellfleet Communications, and Motorola. Mr. Hannigan has a Computer Science degree with honors from University College Dublin, Ireland.

Arvind Krishna

General Manager, Information Management Software, IBM

Arvind Krishna is General Manager of IBM’s Information Management Software Division which includes database, data warehouse, information integration, master data management, integrated data management and associated software. Dr. Krishna is responsible for the revenue, development, strategy, and ecosystem of the Information Management business, a multibillion dollar market. Previously, he was the Vice President of Strategy for IBM Software Group. He has held many key roles in both IBM Software and IBM Research including pioneering IBM’s security software business. He has an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the recipient of a distinguished alumni award1 from the University of Illinois, and is the co-author of 15 patents.

Kristen Lauria

Kristen Lauria is the vice president of marketing for IBM Mobile Enterprise and Application and Integration Middleware (AIM). Kristen leads all aspects of global marketing for the multi-billion dollar division that includes segment marketing for SOA, Business Process Management, and the WebSphere brand. Her leadership extends beyond IBM Software Group and includes driving IBM’s mobile enterprise computing thought-leadership initiative and market development.

In this role, she is responsible for advancing IBM’s strategic growth initiatives with a global ecosystem of clients and partners. Her scope of leadership includes execution in 170 countries and spans strategy and market intelligence, awareness and advertising, market management, demand generation, pipeline execution, and IBM launches and events.

Previously, Kristen was vice president of Marketing for IBM Social Business and Collaboration Solutions. She led the establishment of a new market category for Social Business, which IBM projected to represent nearly $100B in new opportunity. In 2009, Kristen spearheaded the "Lotus knows" campaign to extend the market reach of the recently expanded portfolio. The campaign drove a 27-point increase in unaided awareness in the exposed markets.

Kristen joined IBM in 2003, where she has held a broad range of positions, including vice president, Marketing and Strategy, IBM Global Financing. In this role, she standardized the global Financing portfolio of products, streamlining offerings by 80 percent. Prior to joining IBM, Kristen served as director of Product Marketing and Product Management at Akamai Technologies, where she led product line go-to-market strategies and OEM service partnerships that accounted for over 10 percent of the company’s 2002 revenue. She began her career at Xerox Corporation, where she led a corporate-wide initiative to redefine Xerox’s time-to-market process.

Kristen received her MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. While pursuing her MBA, Kristen assisted the Xerox Chief Engineer in the development of the Center for Innovation in Product Development at MIT. Kristen is the mother of two children and resides in Connecticut with her husband, Mark.

Kris Lovejoy

Kristin Lovejoy is the General Manager of the IBM Security Services Division, charged with development and delivery of managed and professional security services to IBM clients world-wide. Prior to her role in Services, Kris was IBM’s VP of Information Technology Risk and Global CISO, responsible for managing, monitoring and testing IBM’s corporate security and resiliency functions globally, where she also acted as Chairman of IBM’s IT Risk Steering Committee, co-Chair of IBM's Data Security Steering committee, co-Chair of the IBM’s Social Networking committee, and member of IBM’s Enterprise Risk Committee. Today Kris is a member of a number of external boards and advisory panels, including SC Magazine's Editorial Board, Forrester’s Security and Risk Council, Corporate, Grotech Ventures, and FS-ISAC. Before joining IBM, she was the CTO, CIO and VP of Support and Services at Consul which was acquired by IBM in 2007 as well as VP of Security Assurance Services for TruSecure Corporation which was acquired by Verizon Business Services Online.

Ms. Lovejoy is a recognized expert in the field on security, risk, compliance and governance, with recent appearances on CNBC, NPR and WTOP. Within the past five years she has been recognized as 2012 Compass Award Winner by CSO Magazine, one of E-Week’s 2012 “Top Women Women in Information Security That Everyone Should Know”, Top 25 CTO by InfoWorld, as Top 25 Most Influential Security Executives by Security Magazine. Ms. Lovejoy holds U.S. and EU patents for Object Oriented Risk Management Models and Methods.

Today Ms. Lovejoy resides in McLean, Virginia, with her husband and four children

Colin J. Parris, Ph.D.

General Manager, Power Systems

Dr. Parris is currently the General Manager for IBM’s Power Systems business in the IBM Systems & Technology Group (STG). In this role he is responsible for all Power System’s business operations including the delivery of the multi-billion dollar revenue and profit objectives of the IBM Power Systems business. The Power Systems business encompasses all of the hardware, operating systems, and systems software sales and delivery associated with the UNIX, System I, and Linux on Power marketplaces. Dr. Parris is currently a member of the IBM Performance Team and the Integration and Values Team. He is also on the Board of Governors of the IBM Academy of Technology.

In his previous role he was Vice President and Business Line Executive, Power Systems with responsibility for the business operations and portfolio development for the IBM Power Systems business. Prior to this role he was Vice President, Systems Software Development and Lab Services in STG. In this role he was responsible for the development of the systems software, including operating systems, management systems, and tools, for all of IBM’s server products and solutions. He was also responsible for the global sales and delivery of IBM STG’s lab-based server and storage services.

Dr. Parris had previously held executive roles in several IBM organizations. He was Vice President of Industry Solutions in IBM Research where he was responsible for defining and leading IBM Research’s industry strategy, developing new industry, leading-edge, technology solutions. His responsibility before this role was as Vice President, System Assurance & Technical Support, in STG. In this role he was responsible for end-to-end quality, system test, technical support, and lab-based STG services for all of IBM’s server and storage products. In prior roles, Dr Parris was Vice President, Strategic Growth Development, responsible for the commercialization of the Blue Gene Supercomputer, and Vice President, Technology, at the IBM Corporation in which his responsibilities included leading the IBM Corporate Technology Team which oversees all of IBM’s current and future technology directions.

Dr. Parris has also held several other technical and business executive positions at IBM and Prodigy Services Company. These positions include Director, Communication Sector Solutions and WW Linux Integration Centers in the IBM Software Group, Director, OS/2 and Solutions Technology in the IBM Software Group, Vice President, Strategy and Solution Management, in Tivoli Systems, and the Director of Network Architecture at the Prodigy Services Company.

Dr. Parris has also had several research positions at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center and at AT&T Bell Laboratories where he was actively involved in research in virtual environments, e-commerce, mobile agents, and high speed communication networks. He has published numerous papers and has patents in the areas of network management, multimedia systems, and mobile agents.

Dr. Parris received a Doctorate of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley (Ph.D.E.E.), a Masters in the Science of Management (M.S.M) from Stanford University, (as a Sloan Fellow), a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley (M.S.E.E.C.S), and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Howard University (B.S.E.E.). He has also received various technical and community honors and awards.

Dr. Daniel Sabbah

General Manager, Tivoli Software

As general manager of Tivoli Software, IBM Software Group, Dr. Danny Sabbah is responsible for the strategic direction and ongoing operations for the Tivoli brand, which at the forefront of IBM’s Smarter Planet strategy, manages today’s dynamic infrastructures, giving customers the ability to manage resources and risks, optimize human capital and manage service levels and business processes. Tivoli offers solutions in seven key service areas: Integrated Service Management, Asset Management, Storage Management, Security Management, Application Management, Network Management and Energy Management.

Before joining the Tivoli division in January 2011, Danny served as general manager of Rational software, leading IBM’s efforts to advance the discipline of software development. In that role, Danny mobilized more than 2,500 Rational Software employees to help organizations govern the creation of software and systems. A developer at heart and in practice for nearly 30 years, and founder of IBM’s open source policy and Eclipse, Danny brings a complementary expertise to propel the synergy between Tivoli and Rational to drive business value for clients.

Prior to his role at Rational, Danny was the chief technology officer for IBM Software Group, overseeing strategic direction of the group's more than 22,000 developers across 57 research and development centers, and leading the evolution of IBM's middleware technology and architecture across all software brands including Rational, WebSphere, Information Management, Workplace, Portal and Collaboration Software (WPLC) and Tivoli. In the late 1990s, Danny led the team that delivered the IBM WebSphere Web Application Server, and was the vice president of development for the WebSphere brand. While in this role, Danny was responsible for the architecture and strategy for IBM's application development tools, as well as IBM's Web and business integration software.

Danny began his IBM career in 1974, focusing on telecommunications software (VTAM) in Kingston, New York. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Rochester in 1981, specializing in artificial intelligence and computer vision. After earning his degree, Danny returned to the IBM Research division, where he was responsible for artificial intelligence research, then programming languages, and finally, software technology.

Lauren C. States

Vice President and CTO Cloud Computing and Growth Initiatives
IBM Corporate Strategy

As Vice President, Technology Strategy, Growth Initiatives and CTO for Cloud Computing on the IBM Corporate Strategy team, Lauren is responsible for the technology strategy for IBM's growth initiatives, including cloud computing, Smarter Planet, business analytics and emerging markets. In her previous role in the IBM Software Group, Lauren engaged directly with clients to deliver leading edge cloud solutions globally. She joined IBM as a systems engineer after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.

Lauren was a leader in the company’s client/server emerging business, led the client/server Midwest sales team and has also served as global technical sales and customer deployment executive for IBM Software Group. As a senior executive on IBM’s Integration and Values Leadership Team, she was a leader in the company-wide Client Value Initiative — responsible for the reshaping of IBM’s skills development.

In 2012, Lauren received the Federal 100 Award and was recognized by CloudNOW as one of the Top Women in Cloud.

Brian Truskowski

General Manager, System Storage & Networking

Brian J. Truskowski is the general manager of System Storage and Networking, IBM Systems and Technology Group. He is responsible for strategy, product development, marketing, sales support, and program profitability for IBM’s storage and networking businesses, which include disk, tape, networking, storage software and solutions. He is also responsible for driving the integration of storage and network solutions with IBM’s server, software, services and financing teams to deliver innovative new offerings for extended client value.

Prior to this position, he was general manager, Internet Security Systems (ISS), IBM Global Technology Services (GTS). In this role, Mr. Truskowski led ISS in its efforts to deliver world-class security solutions. The ISS team delivered software, hardware and services capabilities that secure enterprise customers around the world.

Since joining IBM in 1981, Mr. Truskowski has held a diverse series of technical and management assignments in IBM’s systems and services businesses. He has served as IBM's global chief information officer (CIO), with responsibility for leading IBM’s transformation to an on demand enterprise through implementation of leading-edge information technology.
Mr. Truskowski also served as technical assistant to Louis V. Gerstner, then IBM chairman and chief executive officer. He is a member of the IBM Corporate Performance Team and Integration & Values Team.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University, a Master of Science degree in management of technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MBA from Winona State University, Minnesota.

Mr. Truskowski served on the College of Engineering National Advisory Council of Marquette University and the Society of Sloan Fellows of MIT Board of Governors. He currently is a member of the board and secretary for the Land Conservancy of Ridgefield, Connecticut.

Marie L. Wieck

General Manager, Application & Integration Middleware

In her more than 25 years with IBM, Marie has held a variety of technical and executive roles in IBM's hardware, software, services and corporate finance groups. In August 2010, Marie Wieck was named to her current position as general manager of Application & Integration Middleware (AIM) business unit. In this role, she leads an organization of more than 7,500 software development, marketing, services, and sales professionals. She is responsible for IBM's WebSphere software portfolio and other strategic middleware products, including Web application servers, transaction and messaging systems, integration, and business process management solutions.

Prior to this role, Ms. Wieck was worldwide portfolio leader for Strategy Outsourcing in IBM Global Technology Services (GTS). In this capacity, she managed the portfolio of services offerings that help customer outsource their IT infrastructure for improved quality and value.

Ms. Wieck has held other leadership roles in IBM including offering development for middleware services, service oriented architecture and cloud initiatives, driving IBM’s software strategy, industry solutions, internet standards, and zSeries product development. She started her career in Poughkeepsie, NY doing mainframe systems architecture and performance simulation.

Marie holds an M.B.A. from New York University, an M.S. in Computer Science from Columbia University and a B.S. in Engineering from The Cooper Union. She is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), the National Association of Female Executives (NAFE), and the Engineering Advisory Council for The Cooper Union. She is co-chairperson of IBM's Global Work/Life Council. She won the SWE Work/Life Balance Award in 2005, the President’s Citation from The Cooper Union for her contributions to technology, and an IBM Corporate Technical Recognition Award for her work on mainframe performance.

Martin J. Wildberger

Vice President, WW Information Management Development

Martin is the Vice President, WW Information Management Development. In this role he has responsibility for the worldwide development of IBM’s Information Management portfolio within IBM Software Group. Martin is responsible for defining the business and technical strategy for the development of the data management segment, a multi-billion dollar market for IBM.

Detailed History:

2009 - Present: Vice President, WW Information Management Development, responsible for the worldwide development of IBM’s Information Management portfolio.

2006 - 2009: Vice President, IBM Sensor Solutions, responsible for building and delivering industry solutions leveraging data from the physical world to transform their business, and acted as a thought leader in IBM’s Smarter Planet vision. In addition to the Sensor Solutions business, Martin was also the Director of the IBM Canada Software Lab from 2004 until December, 2009. With more than 5,000 software professionals, the IBM Canada Laboratory has the second largest development team in IBM with sites in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton and London, Ontario.

2004-2006: Vice President, Industry Solutions Software Group, responsible for the formation and development of IBM’s Industry Solutions organization inside Software Group, while on assignment in Somers, New York.

2001-2004: Vice President, WebSphere Commerce, responsible for IBM’s e-commerce business.

1997-2001: Director, WebSphere Commerce, responsible for the development of IBM’s WebSphere Commerce solutions.

1992-1997: Information Management Development, including three years at the IBM Almaden Research center in California, responsible for delivering key research technology into the DB2 database product line.

Joined IBM in 1984 as a software developer inside the IBM Toronto Lab where he held numerous development and management positions.

Manish Choksi

Yoni Cohen

At just age 18, Yoni established the first Animation Facility for the Israeli Air Force, overseeing all aspects of its operation. Immediately afterwards he set up Snowball Studios, Israel's leading Animation and Visual Effects facility, for which he is Head of Computer Graphics. He is in charge of the Creative Supervisors and all of the company’s creative content, pioneering visuals, technical advancements, and unique original products. To ensure production flows as smooth as possible, Yoni designed and implemented a task and asset management system pipeline which has assisted the production of thousands of minutes of computer graphic animation and visual effects. Last year, Yoni was awarded the prestigious Autodesk 3ds Max Master.

George Fok

Mr. George Fok is Managing Director of PCCW Solutions Ltd, and assumes the role of CIO of the PCCW Group. Mr. Fok holds a bachelor of laws degree from the University of London, a postgraduate certificate in laws from The University of Hong Kong, a bachelor of business degree and a postgraduate diploma in IT from Monash University of Australia, a postgraduate diploma in statistics from The Institute of Statisticians of UK, and an MBA from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Kashyap Mehta

Kashyap is currently spearheading the ecommerce and all multi channel initiative for Croma (A Tata Enterprise) in the capacity of Business Head. His role is charted with developing strategy, preparing business plan with successful execution and operating P&L responsibility for massively-scalable and economically sustainable platforms that help extend the reach, growth and value as a standalone business vertical within Infiniti retail ltd. He comes with a strong 360 degree experience of working in various ecommerce functions like Internet Marketing, Product, Category Management and Operations. In his current role he has successfully launched the ecommerce portal for Croma starting from conceptualization and building it brick by brick. After working for 11 Years in the ecommerce industry with some of the major players like eBay, Novator and Rediff, he has developed a birds eye view for this industry. He enjoys to work with a entrepreneurial bend of mindset and build things from scratch.

Satish Das is currently leading the information security initiatives for Cognizant India for all of their Internal IT technology and processes. Also, Satish is handling an added responsibility of leading the "Go to Market" initiative of Cognizant in the space of Enterprise Risk Management. Satish has been working with Cognizant for about a decade now and has built tremendous credibility in the industry as a thought leader and security evangelist.

Chan Eng Lim

Co-founder and major shareholder of DynaFront, he brought along more than 20 years of IT knowledge and experiences in the insurance industry. He was the Co-winner of Chivas Regal Achievement Unlimited Awards 2001, organized to pay tribute to IT achievers. Graduated from the Campbell University of USA, he held a few managerial positions in other corporate organizations before setting DynaFront.Deeply rooted on the companys core values as the four pillars of strength, Mr. Chan has created a strong and discipline working culture for the company.Mr. Chan is also the driving force and instrumental in managing and leading DynaFront business expansion. His critical responsibilities include formulating strategic alliances, setting strategic direction for products development, creating opportunity for business expansion and to chart out proper development plan for all staff.

Peter Param

Peter Param is currently the IT Security Manager at St Vincents & Mater Health Sydney. He reports directly to the Technical Systems Manager, with a dotted line to the CIO. He is involved in the full cycle of development, planning, deployment and management of IT security infrastructure. These include a PKI, smartcard and biometrics technology, intrusion prevention and anomaly detection systems, perimeter and remote access security, For the past 20 years, he has been involved in IT, in particular infrastructure architecture, IT operations, project management and lately, information security. Among his previous roles, he has also been a technical director at an ISP, overlooking the IT operations and technical infrastructure of the organisation. Part of what he achieved during this role, was the establishment of 3rd tier telcos in Australia and Eastern Europe, in the late 1990s.

Jose Eugenio

Mr. Jose Eugenio Quesada (Joe Gene) has over sixteen years of experience in the Information Technology industry. He worked in the United States for seven years at General Motors and Ford Motor Company as a programmer/analyst. He has been an IT professor at Asia Pacific College for eight years. He has spearheaded the use of Open Source software, and has developed and implemented many IT systems over the years. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Ateneo de Manila University, and his Master of Science in Computer and Information Science at the University of Michigan, in the United States. He was also a scholar to Japan and attended the Open Source Software Standard Development Course under Japan's Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) and AOTS scholarships. He completed the IT Project Management course at the Asian Institute of Management.

Leon has a degree in engineering and is post graduated in Network and System Management. He has been working for Banco Mercantil do Brazil since 1994. He has been teaching Security Management at Fumec University in Belo Horizonte, Brazil since 2002. He has a broad experience in Security and IT infrastructure and application Management and has experience with large, complex and extensive security, application and infrastructure projects implementation dealing with Identity and access management, datacenter disaster recovery solutions, as well as anti-malware solutions in internet banking applications. Also, he manages all security architecture solution for business application at MB. Leon is also highly skilled in IT process management like Change, Application and Compliance Management. He is seen by his peers as an influent opinion leadership in Brazil Security and IT Management market.
