Communities help people who share a common interest collaborate by exchanging and sharing information with one another via their Web browser, IBM Lotus Sametime, and email software.
And a Community works with all the other parts of Lotus Connections in the same way that a person does - for example, communities can be discovered the same way people are discovered, communities can be tagged, and so on.
A community typically includes a related blog, discussion forum, member list, activities, home page, wiki, files, and bookmarks -- although the community's manager gets to pick and choose which components are included. The community manager also decides if the community is open to all or to a more selective group of people.
Communities help people work together.
