APAR NUMBER: PJ28837 PRODUCT: TPF4 FUNCTIONAL AREA: TCP/IP NATIVE STACK SHIPPED IN PUT: ABSTRACT: The OSA gateway failure detection processing can erroneously mark gateways as failed when TPF is cycling to 1052 state or is in input list shutdown. This processing includes issuing PING messages to the gateway if a certain amount of time has elapsed without receiving any data through that gateway. However, if the system is in 1052 state or is in input list shutdown, no messages can be received from the network because polling of the network is stopped. Therefore, TPF could mark some gateways as having failed when, in fact, the gateway is active. SOLUTION: Segment CTSS (IP scan processing) has been updated to check if TPF is in or cycling to 1052 state or is in input list shutdown and, if so, to stop all OSA gateway failure detection timers.
