ABSTRACT OF PROBLEM
___________________
PJ27469 has allocation errors in IBMPAL and SPPGML, a FONTA
macro commented out in BAM0, and a problem in the BSYNC macros.
COMMENTS ON PROBLEM
___________________
Some recoup segments are incorrectly marked as HPO (SBDPS) or
Base (SBMASS) in IBMPAL. This means that customers who run
without HPO are missing some segments and getting others that
they do not need.
The FONTA macro is mistakenly commented out in BAM0. Customers
who expect this support will not be able to use it as coded.
BSYNC macros use ENTxC macros that generate VCONs to enter pro-
grams, rather than entering by program name through the program
allocation table (PAT). Some recoup descriptors use the BSYNC
macro, and if they are not reassembled with every allocator
change, they will cause CTL-63 system errors.
SOLUTION
________
IBMPAL and SPPGML have been corrected to mark what recoup seg-
ments are HPO or Base-only.
The FONTA macro was restored in BAM0.
If a recoup descriptor contains user exit code that generates an
ENTxC type macro, the ENTxC must be coded with the PROGRAM=nnnn
option. For example, IBM descriptor BKDY sets a sychronized
field in the recoup in-core record. To do this, a BYSNC LOCK
and a BYSNC UNLOCK are coded. The BYSNC macro generates an
ENTRC macro. Because active descriptors are loaded into data
records, an allocator change on the system because of a full
load or processors running on different images can cause the
ENTRC to access the wrong PAT slot. This causes a CTL-63 system
error. By changing the BSYNC macro to use the ENTRC
PROGRAM=nnnn option, the CTL-63 is eliminated.
