MakeTPF Build Solution for TPF 4.1

The MakeTPF tool provides a gnumake-based OS/390 UNIX System Services build solution for managing TPF 4.1 C and BAL programs, and building a TPF 4.1 system.

MakeTPF provides tools to:

1. Assemble, compile and link source code that is resident in a hierarchial file system (HFS)
2. Produce executable load modules and objects, also stored in the HFS
3. Allocate and delete any required directories and partitioned data sets
4. Promote macro and copy files between each HFS and PDS
5. Promote linked modules and objects between each HFS and PDS

MakeTPF supports multiple HFSs in a single build, similar to the way MVS data sets can be concatenated. This eliminates the need to have a complete copy of the source in the HFS being used for the build.

MakeTPF System Code Build includes a set of MakeTPF 4.1 makefiles that can be used as a sample for building the TPF 41 system code. See the MakeTPF41_System_Build document for details.
