Technical Details

This theme primarily focuses on the CICS Explorer. Three key design objectives of the CICS Explorer are:

• Increase the productivity of today’s skilled CICS workforce
• Make it easier and faster for the new CICS technical staff to become more productive
• Increase the value of any CICS tools that integrate with it

The CICS Explorer highlights the value of three existing CICS tools – CICS Interdependency Analyzer (CICS IA), CICS Performance Analyzer (CICS PA), and CICS Configuration Manager (CICS CM), all of which have plug-ins for the currently available CICS Explorer SupportPacs. You should start using CICS Explorer on its own, or with one of more of these CICS tools today.
CICS Explorer also provides the framework for the CICS business events instrumentation tooling, thus reducing the need to re-skill, and compounding the value provided by the CICS Explorer.
