System requirements

These are the minimum required level of operating requirements for CICS Transaction Server editions.

CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V 4.1

z/OS	The minimum required level of operating system for CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, Version 4 Release 1 is z/OS Version 1 Release 9 (5694-A01), For Java application programs, the IBM SDK for z/OS, Java Technology Edition, V6, Service Refresh 4 (SR4) is provided with this version of CICS TS. CICS TS V4.1, support for IBM Java SDK Version 1.4.2 and IBM Java SDK Version 5 is withdrawn. CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V 3.2

Operating System	Software	Hardware
z/OS	The minimum required level of operating system for CICS Transaction Server for z/OS, Version 3 Release 2 is z/OS Version 1 Release 7 (5694-A01), For Java application programs, the IBM SDK for z/OS Java 2 Technology Edition, V1.4.2 is required. The IBM XML Toolkit for z/OS (5655-J51) V1.9 is required. This is a no-charge product. It is used by WS-Security, but note that CICS TS V3.2 will not install if it is not present. CICS Transaction Server for VSE/ESA 1.1.1

VSE/ESA	The minimum required level of operating system for CICS Transaction Server for VSE/ESA, Version 1 Release 1 Modification 1 is VSE/ESA Version 2 Release 5. Please refer to the announcement letter for a complete list of software requirements. For a more detailed description, please click here to access the DCR for VSE/ESA 1.1.1	The minimum specification of an IBM processor supported by VSE/ESA Version 2 Release 5 operating system, which runs in ESA mode only. These processors include Enterprise Systems Architecture/390® (ESA/390) processors that meet the requirements of the host operating system, CICS access methods, and user application programs.
