What do you have to do with CICS?
My first involvement with CICS was as a CE helping customers get it to work and keep it working. After 7 years I moved to marketing support where I worked on the DOS IPO, SPO and SIPO/E, building quartery product refreshes. I then worked on building VSE/SP package in the USA and Germany before returning to the UK to run the Early Support Program for EMEA. I moved to Hursley in 1985. Since them I've worked on CICS/VS, CICS/CMS, CICS/VM, CICS OS/2, CICS/400, CICS/MVS, CICS TS and TXSeries, in a Technical Planning and Strategy role.
What were you doing around 8th July 1969?
I was driving a truck for British Road Services Parces, now Lynx.
Fondest CICS related memory
Spending a week at a customer in Aalborg, Denmark on a fire call, getting their new CICS system up and running.
“If CICS was to disappear tomorrow…..”
...we'd all be doomed.
Name something else 35 years old that you still use.
Nothing else has lasted that long.
