What do you have to do with CICS?
I have development responsibilities for some of the components of Java support, including the JVM Launcher and the Shared Class Cache Facility. In previous releases I have worked on BTS, Transient Data, File Control, and Logging/Journalling.

What were you doing around 8th July 1969?
I was enjoying the school holidays that summer, before I went back to take my GCEs. I would have been watching the test matches, listening to a lot of bad music and working out how I was going to get a job as an astronaut.

Fondest CICS related memory
It has been great to have the opportunity to make a contribution to such a successful software product. On occasions when customers have expressed to me their satisfaction with CICS and have stated how much they rely on it for their core business, I have felt very proud of this evolvement. However my fondest memories come from working with so many people who have inspired me over the years. Let me mention some of those who sadly no longer work here:, George Czaycowski, Ken Davies, Ian Hunter, Pete Lupton, Frances Pollard, Ian Reading, Geoff Sharman, Dennis Zimmer.

“If CICS was to disappear tomorrow…..”
...pigs would be seen to fly over Hursley House.

Name something else 35 years old that you still use.
The 16x50 binoculars my dad gave me as a birthday present.
