| What do you have to do with CICS? |
| As CICS Development Manager, I was responsible for the development and introduction of the restructured CICS V3. Later, as CICS Product Manager my focus was on customer satisfaction and specifically on delivering high quality function that would support our customers business growth. CICS was among the first IBM products toship support for non-IBM platforms such as Solaris and in the late 1990s the CICS strategy turned towards the growth of business transactions originating from the internet. |
| What were you doing around 8th July 1969? |
In July 1969, I was on an internal assignment from IBM UK to the Hursley Laboratory to learn about the S/360 Model 65. Among the people I worked with were Bob Hatchard and Malcolm Pollard. Bob was later involved in the transfer of CICS to Hursley and in my transfer to Hursley.
I also became engaged to my wife in July 1969 and caught german measles. |

| The best memories are of the fantastic team of people from across the world who have contributed to the success of CICS. IBMers from Hursley, Raleigh, Dallas and many other locations, business partners and of course our customers. |
