| Unstructured information management applications present a significant business opportunity to IBM and our customers. At the same time, UIM poses a real challenge from a globalization perspective. Due to their need for language understanding, UIM applications need to be designed from the start with a view to multi-lingual support. It will be extremely difficult to support additional languages if the original design was not sensitive to the requirements of other languages.
The good news is that IBM has the technology, expertise, and strategies to help customers realize this business opportunity. IBM LanguageWare is just one important enabling technology that will keep IBM and our customers competitive in this area. |
