| The above pages provide a brief overview of the key elements to understanding the writing system and encoding of Indic languages. IBM has made progress in collecting information on this vast subject and providing it in a single place for experts to review, and for developers to use. IBM's own offerings will use this publicly-available and generally accepted definition. We hope to make more progress in the near future and provide a comprehensive technical definition for everyone to use.
