Lotus® Domino™ 6 and Notes® 6 address the challenges of global and multilingual e-business.

Domino 6 & Notes 6 Executive Overview

"Lotus provides tools for collaboration. From its introduction, Lotus Domino was designed to enable collaboration across national and linguistic barriers. Domino is translated into 28 languages and supports another 20. It has long provided tools for the development of multilingual applications, and Domino customers have built thousands of applications that provide value for both small businesses and large enterprises.

"Domino 6 was launched in September 2002. A primary design goal was to reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). This was achieved largely through improved global support. Domino version 6 also allows one server to support multiple languages; meaning that language differences within an organization are no longer a barrier to server consolidation and reduced hardware and administrative costs. Language packs for all 28 Domino languages simplify and reduce setup costs. Domino 6 also adds improved support for mobile users. Its roaming user feature, introduced with Domino 6.01 was designed with a multi lingual work group in mind. It allows a user from another country with another language preference, or employees in a multilingual country like Canada or Switzerland to share one collaborative workstation.

"Domino 6 builds on the product’s global heritage. It uses good globalization practice both to reduce total cost of ownership and to improve the end user experience."
