According to Internet World Stats , almost 1.5 billion people or 21.9% of the world's population have access to the Internet as of June 2008.
Asia has 39.5% of the world's Internet users. Over 70% of these users are in just 3 countries: China, Japan and India. In 2008, Internet World Stats estimated the Top Ten Languages by Internet users. Approximately 29% of Internet users speak English, and 19% speak Chinese.
