Our globalization processes are well-developed. It would make most sense to repeat the old ownerships and re-assign members to fulfill the tasks that they were good at. Since a scope of work (SOW) was already available, it would not be hard to create one for Albonistan.

This was a tried-and-tested SOW developed specifically for ONION. When converted to a Gantt chart, it was a good basis to start from. The team agreed to repeat the old responsibilities because it had worked so well last time. I guess they were as anxious as I was to get it done quickly and painlessly.
I wondered if it would be sensible of me to give my lieutenant Khalil the ownership of this project. He had been showing good signs of leadership. And because we had done well with ONION so far, it may be the right time for him to be in such a role for some time. And, besides, it would be a good way for me to take a holiday.
I decided to stay for the requirements, architectural reviews and component evaluation phases. It would give Khalil a good hand-holding and increase his enthusiasm for the effort. |
