Katie Linendoll is an Emmy Award winning TV personality, writer, tech expert and global tech consultant.

In those roles, she spends as much time on her laptop as she does in the field. Whether she’s scuba diving to the world’s only underwater marine lab to get a first-look story with Fabien Cousteau, reporting on technology used by an elephant orphanage in Kenya or jetpacking across the Pacific Ocean, it’s all in a day’s work for Linendoll.

Known for her quirky expertise and high energy, Linendoll, a writer and contributor for the TODAY show, is one of the most in-demand tech experts in the country. She has contributed to CNN for the past five years and recently finished shooting an innovation series for Huffington Post (a number of episodes garnered more than a million views each). The former host of All Access Weekly on Spike TV, her broadcast credits also include Fox and Friends, CBS News, The Nate Berkus Show, ABC News Now, ESPN and more. She researches, produces and creates her own segments.

Publications such as,,,, Yahoo! Finance and others have consulted Linendoll’s expertise. She has written more than 60 pieces for, and contributed to Marie Claire, Shape Magazine, People Magazine, Fitness and other publications.

As a former technology host at HSN, Linendoll was responsible for more than $20 million in sales for the network. She has also participated in media projects with Dell, Skype, HP, Hyatt, IBM, Cadillac and Lincoln. She leads speaking engagements on innovations in technology and moderates panels at universities and corporate events across the country.

dev@Insight Keynote: The Future of Data and Analytics – Today

Sunday, October 26 at 4:30 p.m.
We are poised on the brink of a new era of computing, in which computers will increasingly partner with people to improve our lives and help us solve complex problems. These new systems will feed on data and new analytics, constantly learning. This talk will give examples of emerging “cognitive” systems being built today, and highlight how available technologies, coupled with a little innovation, can create a new generation of intelligent, cooperative applications.

dev@Insight Keynote Speaker: Laura Haas

Laura Haas is an IBM Fellow and Director of IBM Research’s Accelerated Discovery Lab. She was Director of Computer Science at IBM’s Almaden Research Center from 2005 to 2011, and had worldwide responsibility for IBM Research’s exploratory science program from 2009 through 2013. From 2001-2005, she led the Information Integration Solutions architecture and development teams in IBM's Software Group. Previously, Dr. Haas was a research staff member and manager at Almaden. She is best known for her work on the Starburst query processor, from which DB2 LUW was developed, on Garlic, a system which allowed integration of heterogeneous data sources, and on Clio, the first semi-automatic tool for heterogeneous schema mapping. She has received several IBM awards for Outstanding Innovation and Technical Achievement, an IBM Corporate Award for information integration technology, and the Anita Borg Institute Technical Leadership Award. Dr. Haas was Vice President of the VLDB Endowment Board of Trustees from 2004-2009, and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and the IBM Academy of Technology, an ACM Fellow, and Vice Chair of the board of the Computing Research Association.

dev@Insight Keynote Speaker: Adam Kocoloski

Monday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m.
Adam is a Co-founder and CTO of Cloudant, an IBM Distinguished Engineer, and IBM CTO of Information Management. He is an Apache CouchDB developer and the lead architect of a Dynamo-flavored clustering solution for CouchDB that serves as the core of Cloudant's distributed data management platform. Adam received his Ph.D. in Physics from MIT in 2010, where he studied the gluon's contribution to the spin structure of the proton. He is a proud father to three beautiful girls.
