Overview
IBM® CommonStore for Exchange Server provides comprehensive e-mail archiving and mailbox management capabilities. It includes full-text email indexing so it is easily searched and discovered and provides cross-mailbox search with actionable results. For example, authorized users can place email on hold for legal discovery.
Authorized users, such as compliance staff, can perform cross-mailbox search and place e-mail on hold in support of retention requirements, e-discovery and audit. System users can
Integrate email with contextually similar documents, such as contracts, through a policy-driven archive
Retain, archive, hold, and dispose of e-mail and attachments
Ensure e-mail compliance with regulatory, government and industry mandates
Achieve higher productivity with shorter search times. Exchange Server documents are archived and retrieved within seconds and still immediately available after several years
Protect email and attachments against unauthorized access.
Trim the size of the Microsoft® Exchange database to improve the performance and operations of e-mail systems. Archive e-mail, attachments or both into a scalable content management system. Two strategies offer smaller capacity requirements and faster performance for your Exchange Server(s):
Archive complete mail documents—Offload selected e-mail from your existing Exchange Server to an external archive, moving both attachments and e-mail messages.
Archive file attachments only—Keep the messages online and archive just the bulky file attachments. When you need them again later, just click Retrieve. CommonStore immediately retrieves the files from the archive—for simple display or for re-attachment to the mail document.
