Optim High Performance Unload for DB2 for Linux, UNIX and Windows

Optim High Performance Unload is a high-speed utility for unloading, extracting, and repartitioning data in DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows databases. Optim High Performance Unload:

• Reads directly from the table space files to provide quick access to DB2 data for both online and offline databases.

• Extracts tables from full, offline backups including backups of SMS or DMS table spaces or backups of the database. New with Optim High Performance Unload V4.1.2 is the ability to restore data from incremental and delta backup images.

• Performs high-speed data unloads from multiple database partitions.

• Unloads data samples (for example, every nth row) or subsets including column and row filtering.

• Supports use of column scalar functions for modifying values and autonomic data type conversions and formats, such as date and time.

• Creates multiple outputs during a single unload and can target files, pipes, or other devices.

• Supports multiple output formats, including XML, delimited and non-delimited ASCII, and DSNTIAUL.

• Provides repartitioning capability in a single step for data redistribution on the same or different system.

• Allows unloads to be performed by any user ID that has SELECT authority on the table.

• Supports DB2 9 exploitation of: table partitioning, DB2 storage optimization feature, DB2 advanced access control feature, label-based access control, row compression.

• Runs 64-bit executables.

• Generates a DB2 load file that can be used with the load command for the target database when the DBA prefers to unload data to temporary storage.

• Migrates data directly from one database to another, including unloading, transferring, and loading of the data between the source database and target database without the need for intermediate storage.
