Optim Database Administrator:
Provides easy task initiation for common database administration tasks including object, utilities, command, and configuration management. Commands can be run immediately, saved to a script to be run later, or saved to a script that is compatible for scheduling for offline execution from the data server.
Supports seamless transition from logical to physical design via integration with InfoSphere Data Architect. Automates forward and reverse schema engineering between models, the database, and DDL.
Facilitates impact and dependency analysis to mitigate risk of application outages. Finds dependencies among data objects to understand how proposed changes might impact other related objects.
Maintains the integrity of the database by generating commands that respect referential integrity relationships, preserve table data, privileges, and all dependent objects and allows you to undo changes quickly if necessary.
Accelerates complex structural changes by automating extended alters that require dropping and re-creating objects and data preservation. You can choose how data is preserved during change deployment with the ability to either store data outside the database or store data inside the database using a shadow table. Unlike other products data is persevered on the database server and not routed through the client.
