Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS

IBM® Content Manager OnDemand for z/OS® is high-performance middleware that provides a highly reliable system for enterprise report management and electronic statement presentation. It is optimized to capture, search, present, and manage large collections of small objects such as statements or bills.

New in 8.4.1 (announced February 24, 2009):

• Enhanced Retention Manager holds or retains individual documents within a load. Held documents cannot be expired until the hold is released. Un-held documents are deleted during load expiration. It lets customers avoid manually handling document expiration or having to keep all documents in a load.
• Integration with FileNet P8 is provided out of the box. It lets customers
  1. search and view CM OnDemand content and FileNet Content Manager content from the same client window.
  2. leverage CM OnDemand content in FileNet Business Process Manager applications. For example, the arrival of an invoice in CM OnDemand can trigger a business review and approval process. The invoice document can be added and tracked as a component of the review and approval process.
  3. manage CM OnDemand documents as records in InfoSphere Enterprise Records (formerly called FileNet Records Manager)
• Enhanced PDF improves ingestion performance and decreases storage requirements of PDF reports due to advanced resource handling and resource optimization.

The core server and client components offer powerful capabilities:

• Report and Document capture is fast and handles multiple data types.

• Searching, Viewing, Printing, Faxing options are varied, easy to use and include support for annotations and logical viewing.

• Storage Management is automated and optimized for cost and retrieval benefits.

• The OS/390 indexer allows concatenated fields, trigger values across a line as well as down a page, an unlimited number of index rows for AFP documents, thread safety, and more.

The system supports:

• Object Access Method (OAM) to support DASD, optical and tape storage

• DB2 z/OS for indexes and control tables

• System Managed Storage (SMS) to automate file and object storage management

• Storage and/or access to data on other OnDemand servers

IBM Web Interface (WEBi) is an easy-to-use, highly interactive Web client that employys open standards and supports Web 2.0 and AJAX technologies.
