InfoSphere Virtual Services is designed to supplement our global professional services delivery team by providing reduced cost, real-time, remote consulting services. Virtual Services has a large pool of experienced resources located around the globe that support IT consulting and development activities, as well as Migration and Mentoring services to customers leveraging InfoSphere products.

Along with training, project development and consulting work, there are two specific services offerings in which Virtual Services is entirely responsible for:

• Information Server Upgrades and Migrations
• Implementation Service Desk

The primary goal of our Information Server Upgrade & Migration services offerings executed by the Virtual Services team is to ensure a successful, low risk, rapid upgrade and/or migration to the latest release of Information Server allowing you to take full advantage of all of the product's capabilities.

Upgrade: For our existing customers on a previous version of Information Server, our upgrade assessment and flexible approaches to executing your upgrade will align with your specific situation and enable you to take advantage of the latest features of our product.

Migration: Whether you are an existing or a new customer that is looking to migrate to our parallel framework, we will look to minimize the impact to your organization through our well tested and executed migration process.

The InfoSphere Professional and Virtual Services teams have created the tools and processes necessary to ensure quality, predictability and repeatability with each upgrade & migration we undertake.

ISD is a consulting hot line providing clients and partners with an alternative to full-time onsite resources. Quick access to technical, business and project management skills can be obtained through the ISD to support whatever phase of the deployment process you may be in. This cost effective, flexible option is a safety net for customers who may encounter problems after implementation as well. Today, the ISD is available for all new and existing MDM Server and Information Server customers, with hopes of expanding to other areas in 2009.
