Accurately identifying the provider is critical for sharing results and communicating with providers.
IBM® Initiate® Provider Hub for MDM integrates with existing systems and data sources to accurately match and link different representations of provider data to create a master view. A master index of providers helps healthcare organizations achieve the following goals:
Create a single point of collection for distributed provider data that can be integrated with IBM Initiate Patient Hub for MDM for consistent and seamless management of relationships across patients and providers
Manage all types of care providers: individuals (physicians, nurses, laboratory technicians and home health providers and so on) and organizations (clinics, labs, pharmacies and so on) with an industry- standard algorithm optimized for provider data
Store and track unique data attributes with a data model flexible enough to store multiple values for a single attribute, such as multiple practice addresses for a clinician
View and manage the relationships between physicians and their practice locations as well as track the communications preferences for contacting those providers
Provide a single location for finding and maintaining provider information that is not tracked by source systems
Allow source systems to be notified of new providers added to the system or of any changes made to existing provider information
