Overview
IBM® InfoSphere® Information Services Director allows tasks to be published as reusable services in a SOA.
Provides data integration capabilities and information as a service to deliver trusted business information across the enterprise in real time with reusable logic
- Publishes data integration logic built from InfoSphere Information Server, InfoSphere Information Server for System z, InfoSphere Federation Server, InfoSphere Master Data Management Server, InfoSphere Master Data Management Server for Product Information Management, InfoSphere Classic Federation Server for z/OS, IBM DB2, and Oracle into an “always on” service in minutes without coding
- Deploy reusable information services for all types of applications. The same service supports multiple protocol bindings: Web services (SOAP/HTTP), Java Message Service (JMS), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Really Simple Syndication (RSS), and Representational State Transfer (REST)
- Defines services as true business objects, deployed natively in your application server, completely hiding the implementation complexity from the service consumer
- Provides a resilient environment that supports fault tolerance, load balancing and true parallel execution for high availability
- Built on a pure J2EE architecture, ISD provides a secure and resilient framework for hosting data integration services and dispatching requests to IBM InfoSphere Information Server, WebSphere Process Server, or other applications and databases
- Maintains a directory of available services, directly linked to the metadata infrastructure underlying IBM InfoSphere Information Server, to enable centralized management of data integration services
- ISD is built to provide a SOA for data integration that leverages and reinforces the open standards activities of organizations like WS-I, OASIS, W3C, and the Java Community Process
